W A Truelove & Son Ltd has recently expanded, opening a new branch in Fetcham in July 2017. This is an important location for the company as, since opening the Leatherhead Branch in 2012, it has been looking for suitable premises in the Fetcham area. Located at 105 The Street, Fetcham, the branch opened its doors to the public on 6th July 2017 after a complete refurbishment. The building is outfitted with a welcoming reception room and a comfortably furnished arranging room as well as two chapels of rest. It is also equipped with air conditioning and there is a client’s car park at the rear of the building.
The branch is staffed by two funeral arrangers, Carole and Jane, who will provide guidance and support to members of the local community who are experiencing bereavement.
They will also be able to offer expert advice on pre-paid funeral plans, monumental masonry and bereavement support. Ms Carole Cripps, who lives in Fetcham, comes to the role from a background as a corporate assistant. She was inspired to move into the funeral profession following a personal experience of bereavement when she discovered a desire to provide support to other people in similar situations. Mrs Jane Popay is also a Fetcham local, having lived with her family in the area for over thirty years. Jane was a nurse for over 40 years and has worked at many local hospitals during her career, most recently as a ward sister at Ashtead Hospital. She has a wealth of caring experience to bring to her new role as funeral arranger.
The Chapels of Rest at the new Fetcham Branch were dedicated by members of the local clergy on Wednesday 22nd November. The service was led by Reverend Andrew Smith from St Mary’s Church, Fetcham, and Father John Inglis from Our Lady of Sorrow, Fetcham.
Other clergy members in attendance were Reverend Mandy Macvean from St Lawrence Church, Effingham, Rev Kim Plumpton from Cobham Methodist Church and Rev Alan Jenkins from St Nicholas Church, Bookham. Other guests included Councillor Raj Haque of Fetcham West, representatives of the local police, members of the local Women’s Institute and local funeral celebrants Mr Peter O’Brien and Mr Robert Skipper.
The directors and staff of W A Truelove & Son Ltd were delighted to welcome all of them to the new chapels of rest and to attend the dedication service. Afterwards, the guests had the opportunity to look around the branch and to get to know the branch staff whilst enjoying some light refreshments.
The Fetcham branch is open from 9.00 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. from Monday to Friday and from 9.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. on Saturdays. W A Truelove & Son Ltd are looking forward to serving and engaging with the local community in the future.
