The Diamant series has been created by world famous Scandinavian design studio Jacob Jensen Design in conjunction with leading Danish coffin manufacturer Tommerup Kister. The brief was that the coffin should be “different, but not strange”. We think they have succeeded. The faceted design reflects the purity and eternity of a diamond. The design on the interior cotton upholstery is inspired by the scenery surrounding the studio in Hejlskov where the waters of the fjord mirror the sky while butterflies fly among the reeds and rushes which rise vertically against the horizon. The Diamant series are constructed from Nordic Birch plywood, as it is a more sustainable resource than traditional hardwood, and comprises a collection of three coffins available in either black or white. The coffins have 14, 26 or 32 facets and it is these numbers which have given them their names.
