About our Caterham Branch
Our Caterham branch was opened in 1991. As we had long served many families in the Caterham area, we decided we ought to have a local branch for their convenience. Originally we were at Leslie House at 187, Croydon Road but, in the spring of 2016, we moved to larger premises, closer to the centre of town, at 11-13, Godstone Road. The new premises have full facilities, including air conditioning. There is also a meeting room, available to local charities, free of charge. It is worth noting that the premises were built on the site of the shop which housed the Operations Room of RAF Kenley during the Battle of Britain in September 1940.
Following the retirement of Geoff Langford, after nineteen years with the company, the branch is now run by Alison Brown. Alison has been with Truelove’s since May 2012, originally as a Relief Manager covering various branches for holidays and sickness. She was trained by Geoff Langford and jumped at the chance of taking over the branch from him when he retired in July 2013. Alison started her career nursing sick children at Great Ormond Street. She then became an energy advisor for Seeboard in Croydon, before starting her own kitchen and appliance fitting companies, which she ran very successfully, with her partner, for fourteen years. Following the deaths of a number of her own family and close friends, she decided that she wanted to return to a caring profession. She is passionate about helping to arrange a funeral exactly how the family want it and always assists them to make it as personal as possible. Alison is a qualified funeral arranger, having passed her Certificate in Funeral Arranging and Administration with distinction in 2014. She was also presented with the President’s Award by the London Association of Funeral Directors, for achieving the highest marks in her class.
Our Caterham branch is on the Godstone Road, next door to Caterham Valley Computers. Godstone Road is the road that runs from the main roundabout by Waitrose and the Church Walk Shopping Centre up to the A22 Caterham by-pass.
We have private car park at the rear of the building, accessed by turning down Clareville Road, at the traffic lights in front St. John the Evangelist Church, and taking the first right, Church Walk. The car park is down on the right, clearly signed. There is also limited free on-street parking at the front of the building.
Caterham branch is open from 9.00 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. from Monday to Friday and from 9.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. on Saturdays. Outside of these hours, please ring our Head Office on 020 8642 8211.

Some comments from our clients:
“I have just completed your Customer Satisfaction Questionnaire and I wanted to say what a wonderful woman you have working for you: Alison Brown. From the moment of first contact with your company she was lovely. A very warm and genuine person. I felt immediately that my late husband was in good hands and we had made the right choice in using Truelove’s.
Within a very short space of time, Alison was able to gauge what type of person my husband was and was able to advise accordingly. She gently took me and my family through the difficult process of arranging a funeral.
The funeral itself went perfectly and I felt very well cared for by your team, the funeral director and bearers. They catered for our needs and wishes perfectly and with great respect.
I have subsequently had reason to visit your Caterham branch with my children and have found Alison to be warm, caring, welcoming and insightful. My friends and family have also been into the branch to drop off donations and they all commented what a wonderful lady Alison is. Alison has been fantastic and it’s a great comfort to us as a family that my husband was so well looked after. Thank you so much.”
“On behalf of our family I would like to thank your company, and in particular Alison in your Caterham office, for the care and compassion shown at what was a difficult time.
It was very reassuring to know that Mum was in good hands and all the funeral arrangements were safely entrusted with Alison. Her advice and compassion were very much appreciated by all the family.
The whole team, from Glen who collected Mum from home, to Leroy at the funeral itself, acted very professionally and compassionately. Please pass on our thanks to all of them, they are a credit to your company. I would not hesitate to recommend your company’s services.”
“Thank you very much to you and all the team who made Mother’s funeral so very special and personal. The feedback this evening from all who attended said it was the best they had ever been to with the care and attention to detail from the moment Mum arrived to when we left. Once again, many thanks to you and your team.”
“We also wanted to say how pleased we all were at the way you and all your staff dealt with the arrangements and the funeral itself. Everyone was so kind and efficient and put us at our ease at such a sad time, so thank you all very much.”
“Can I say how pleased and grateful we were for your kindness, helpfulness and professionalism while arranging mother’s funeral. It gave us full confidence that she was in good hands and allowed us to mourn without added worries.”
